Dopamine detoxes fail because they create a vacuum.
"Stop scrolling" creates empty time. Empty time gets filled with... scrolling.
The System Approach
Instead of removing dopamine sources, replace them with better ones:
- Morning plan delivery → replaces morning scroll with execution
- Task completion → XP → dopamine from achievement, not consumption
- Streak maintenance → social media's "don't break the chain" but for real life
- Evening check-in → replaces evening scroll with reflection and gratitude
You don't detox from dopamine. You redirect it toward execution.
